This web site presents information related to the history, closure, environmental cleanup, and property transfer of Fort Ord, a former US Army base which was closed in 1994.

Many of the documents on this site that are available for downloading and viewing are portable document format (pdf) files, which are best viewed when using Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.x or greater in conjunction with Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or greater, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x or greater.  All of these programs are available free to the public at the following web sites:
