To report suspected military munitions on federal property:
Call the Presidio of Monterey Police at (831) 242-7851 or alternate phone 242-7852
To report suspected military munitions on state, county, city, or private property:
Call your local law enforcement agency or dial 911
As an active U.S. Army post, Fort Ord's mission was to train soldiers to protect
the interests of the United States. An important part of the mission was infantry
and artillery training. As a result of this training, unexploded ordnance remains
on portions of the now-closed Fort Ord. If you find an object (or even a piece
of one) that resemble military munitions DO NOT TOUCH IT. Instead, MARK THE
LOCATION, and contact the appropriate agency.
