Controlled Detonation Notice – July 23, 2024

UPDATE: Controlled Detonation Complete.

A controlled detonation of suspected Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) items is scheduled for July 23, 2024 between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM within the Fort Ord restricted Munitions Response Site (MRS) – Bureau of Land Management (BLM) (Impact Area). The detonation will occur in the vicinity of Nowhere Road.

Local residents, municipal activities, public roadways, and commuter traffic will not be impacted by this operation. The detonation safety exclusion zone (radius) of 1,873 ft for the largest item is fully contained within the fenced and posted impact area of the former Fort Ord. The area of the detonation safety exclusion zone will be closed to all nonessential personnel during detonation operations.

Some noise may be discernible and smoke visible.
