Controlled Detonation Notice – November 4, 2025

UPDATE: Controlled Detonation Complete.

A controlled detonation of Materials Potentially Presenting and Explosive Hazard (MPPEH) is scheduled for November 4, 2025 between 8 AM and 11:00 AM within the Fort Ord restricted Munitions Response Site (MRS) – Bureau of Land Management (BLM) (Impact Area). The Impact Area is closed to public access. The detonation will occur in the vicinity of Wildcat Ridge.

Local residents, municipal activities, public roadways, and commuter traffic will not be impacted by this operation. The detonation safety exclusion zone (radius) of 350ft for the items is fully contained within the fenced and posted Impact Area of the former Fort Ord. The area of the detonation safety exclusion zone will be closed to all nonessential personnel during detonation operations.

Some noise may be discernible and smoke visible.
